Gmsh is an open source 3D finite element mesh generator with a built-in CADengine and post-processor. Its design goal is to provide a fast, light anduser-friendly meshing tool with parametric input and advanced visualizationcapabilities. Gmsh is built around four modules: geometry, mesh, solver andpost-processing. The specification of any input to these modules is done eitherinteractively using the graphical user interface, in ASCII text files usingGmsh's own scripting language (.geo
files), or using the C++, C,Python or Julia Application Programming Interface (API).

The specification of any input to these modules is done either interactively using the graphical user interface or in ASCII text files using Gmsh's own scripting language.

All geometrical, mesh, solver and post-processing instructions are prescribed either interactively using the graphical user interface (GUI) or in text files using Gmsh's own scripting language. Interactive actions generate language bits in the input files, and vice versa. This makes it possible to automate all treatments, using loops, conditionals and external system calls.
